Congratulations to our 2025 1Q Starfish Award Honoree, Kaitlyn Coleman, PA HC Assoc II/OP Center!

The Starfish Award recognizes team members who fill vital roles outside of nursing. These “difference makers” provide direct and indirect services to Riverside patients and the community.

Kaitlyn’s nomination read: “A 44-year-old woman with Down syndrome was brought in by her elderly father for a urine sample—an already delicate situation made more complex by the patient’s difficulty
understanding instructions and the father’s inability to accompany her into the restroom. It was uncharted territory for you, and yet, you approached the moment with thoughtfulness, professionalism, and full heart. Rather than making assumptions or stepping back, you did the right thing—you asked your manager for guidance and made it clear that you were more than willing to help. Your attitude of ‘I’m happy to do this, and I don’t feel uncomfortable’ speaks volumes about who you are, not just as a team member, but as a human being. Your willingness to step outside of your comfort zone, and to prioritize the dignity and needs of this patient, allowed for successful sample collection and timely care—something that would not have been possible without your actions. You displayed a level of empathy and a ‘whatever it takes’ spirit that truly defines excellence in patient care. This wasn’t just above and beyond—it was next level compassion. You didn’t just do your job—you showed up for someone who needed you most.”

Honoring the legacy of Dr. Robert Boll, DO

On Friday, June 27, the Frankfort Campus proudly hosted a heartfelt celebration honoring the incredible career of Dr. Robert Boll, DO. The outpouring of love and appreciation from staff, patients, and the community spoke volumes about the remarkable impact Dr. Boll has made over the years.

Dr. Boll has served the Riverside Frankfort Campus for the past nine years, building lasting relationships not only with his patients and colleagues but also with local organizations, including the Frankfort Fire Protection District. In a powerful tribute to his service, the Fire Department brought in two engines filled with fire personnel and honored him with a bagpipe performance, a meaningful gesture to celebrate his retirement and acknowledge his invaluable mentorship to their EMS and cadet teams.

Surrounded by his wife Dana, son Kyle, daughter Emma, daughter-in-law Katy, and grandsons Cohen & Brody, the event was a beautiful reflection of the unity between work and family, a hallmark of a life devoted to healing and service.

Throughout his tenure, Dr. Boll has been a driving force in shaping the culture of Frankfort Campus. His compassion, humility, and unwavering commitment to patient care have touched countless lives. The impact of Dr. Boll’s mentorship and dedication will continue to be felt through the many professionals he has guided and the community he has so faithfully served.

Though retiring from clinical practice, Dr. Boll’s dedication to service continues. He will remain actively involved in the community as a trustee of the Frankfort Fire Protection District. Additionally, he looks forward to spending quality time with his family, exploring the wilderness, and volunteering on an Indian reservation to provide care to underserved populations.

Thank you, Dr. Boll, for your exceptional service to Family Medicine and to the Riverside Medical Group. Your legacy of kindness, service, and dedication will resonate within these walls for years to come.
