Memo: Overhead Paging Notifier

In alignment with our commitment to fostering a healing and calming environment for
our patients, families, and visitors, the hospital will be updating its overhead paging
system to remove the extended “whoop” alert that traditionally precedes code
announcements.

Effective August 1, 2025 all emergency codes and other critical overhead
announcements will be broadcast with a shortened tone to alert staff. This change
supports a quieter and more therapeutic atmosphere while maintaining timely and
effective communication during emergencies.

All code procedures and staff responsibilities remain unchanged. Please continue to
respond to overhead announcements promptly and according to policy.
Should you have any questions or concerns about this change, please contact Jay
Kindle at extension 31932 or email [email protected].

Thank you for your continued commitment to patient-centered care.

Remembering the life of Harry Bond, Riverside board chairman

On July 1, Harry Bond – longtime Riverside Healthcare board member and, most recently, chairman of the boards of both the Riverside Healthcare and Riverside Medical Center Boards of Directors – passed away.

Riverside proudly honors Bond’s life and legacy.

Mr. Bond joined the Riverside Foundation Board in September 2000 and most recently served as Chairman of both the Riverside Healthcare and Riverside Medical Center Boards of Directors. Since moving to the community in 1978 to join the Monical’s Pizza business, Mr. Bond quickly became a steadfast supporter of local businesses and nonprofit organizations.

A passionate advocate for excellence in healthcare, Mr. Bond played a key role in achieving Riverside’s first Magnet Designation. His business insight and leadership helped shape the organization’s growth and direction. In recognition of their impact, Harry and his wife, Deborah, were named the Riverside Healthcare Foundation’s Samaritans of the Year in 2004 and received the Good Heart Award in 2022 for their extraordinary gift of time and service to Riverside.

Mr. Bond’s contributions to our community extended far beyond his business endeavors. His legacy of service and generosity will continue to inspire for years to come.

We extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers for the Bond family.
